Senior Product Designer - AI / Agentic Workflows @ Samsara (Remote, Contract)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Senior Product Designer – responsible for end‑to‑end design of AI‑driven features, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and customers to ensure high-impact, user‑centered solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own the UX for a product area or surface, delivering high‑impact designs that unlock significant customer and business value. Collaborate closely with product and engineering on strategy, planning, and execution. Work directly with customers to understand needs, validate designs, and inform strategy. Provide expertise and knowledge transfer to samsara's internal design team. Deliver all agreed‑upon project deliverables on time and to specification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of product design experience creating UX/UI for web and mobile applications. Direct experience designing AI or agentic workflow products strongly preferred. Strong interaction and visual design skills. Portfolio and/or case studies showcasing design craft and quantified impact – required for consideration. Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Figma Make). Experience prototyping in real codebases; comfort working in GitHub. Proven experience in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments. Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

High craft combined with pragmatic, proactive execution. Comfortable with 0→1 and early‑stage work where the path isn’t fully defined. Self‑directed and resourceful – can identify needed actions and move them forward independently. Refined taste, strong product instincts, and a bias toward solving real customer problems elegantly. Curious, hands‑on, and resilient – able to zoom out strategically and zoom in to deliver polished work.

Duration : 6 months (with conversion potential if based in a country where samsara has legal entities) Hours : 40 hrs/week, no overtime Location : Fully remote Rate : $90-$110/hr Start : ASAP

This is a fully remote contract role. Candidates based in a samsara entity country are strongly preferred.
