Assembly Technician

Job Opportunity at Hitachi RailHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Assembler who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This position is based in Batesburg, SC.The Assembler is responsible for preparing and assembling products and components within the production area, following specific instructions while conforming to the highest quality and standards.Accountabilities:Retrieve parts and materials, potentially using forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucksPerform complex assembly tasks, including mechanical, electrical, and harness assembliesAssemble products and components according to diagrams, blueprints, or work ordersEnsure tools and equipment are in good working orderUtilize hand tools, portable powered tools, and potentially machinery to efficiently assemble productsPerform routine maintenance to produce or process productsInspect assembled products for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, to include HSE critical requirements and great attention to detailMaintain inventory records using scanning and tracking systemsEnsure accurate assembly and proper fitting of componentsEffectively collaborate with team members to complete tasksIdentify and troubleshoot during the assembly processMaintain a clean and organized workspaceAdhere to safety and quality guidelines and company policiesMust have the ability to:Obtain Powered Industrial Trucks (e.g. forklift, pallet jack, etc.) CertificateRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructionsUnderstand measurements and follow instructionsWork in an environment that requires physical and continual movementLearn new processes, procedures, and technologiesLift or lower items weighing < 24lbs (10.9kg) and Push or Pull efforts < 42lbs (19kg)Required skills & experience:3+ years of Associate or equivalent Assembling experienceKnowledge of electrical terminationsExcellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP SoftwareBenefits:Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short & Long Term Disability, Life & Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
