Surgical Tech III

Department/Unit: Operating Room Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $47,921.64 - $71,882.46 Surgical Technologists are allied health professionals who are an integral part of the team providing surgical care to patients. They work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures, ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and patient safety is maintained. The surgical technologist handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgery. They understand the procedure and anticipate the surgeon's needs. They maintain the sterile field vigilantly and can function independently in the scrub role or as a circulator under RN supervision. This position may require on-call duties and rotating shifts. Maintain sterile field Prepare operating rooms and assist with patient positioning as needed Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening Maintain sterility of instruments and supplies Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts following policies and procedures Thank you for your interest in Albany Medical Center!
