Database Administrator – Saint Francis Health System Job Summary The Database Administrator is responsible for the performance, security, maintenance, and reliability of databases within Saint Francis Health System (SFHS). This role ensures data integrity and availability through database design, performance optimization, backups, security controls, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery planning. The Database Administrator works closely with business and healthcare stakeholders to understand database needs, develop solutions, and ensure systems support organizational processes and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, maintain, and optimize database structures based on organizational requirements. Analyze systems and business processes to identify database needs and develop effective solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders and business process experts to gather requirements and recommend system enhancements. Monitor database performance and optimize queries, configurations, and overall system functionality. Maintain and update SQL code to resolve errors and improve database functionality. Implement database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and protection of sensitive healthcare information. Develop and maintain backup procedures and disaster recovery plans to protect data availability and integrity. Ensure database accuracy, consistency, reliability, and compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and standards. Plan for future database capacity, storage requirements, and anticipated organizational growth. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues to minimize downtime and prevent data loss. Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, and other database-related projects. Perform non-routine procedures under changing conditions while following general direction from leadership. Provide technical support and communicate with internal and external customers by phone or in person. Collaborate with IT teams, healthcare professionals, and other departments to support effective database operations. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of database administration experience, preferably within a healthcare environment. Strong knowledge of database management, SQL, security, backups, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator – SQL certification required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
