About the Position

Job Title: RN Step Down Profession: RN Step Down Specialty: RN Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: - Experience with HFNC, BIPAP, and stable GTT management - Experience in post-operative care for CABG, AVR, and MVR patients - Knowledge of cardiovascular and vascular processes - Experience with AAA repair, lobectomy, CEA, NSTEMI, STEMI, ACS, pacers, sepsis, GIB, post-DKA, respiratory failure, and tracheostomy care Description: This position is for a 30-bed stepdown unit. The role involves providing care to patients requiring close monitoring. You will manage high-flow nasal cannula and BIPAP therapies. You will be responsible for tracking and managing stable medication infusions. Experience with common postoperative complications is essential. This unit floats between critical care service lines. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are required. Collaborative teamwork is essential in providing safe patient care. Effective communication with the healthcare team will be necessary.
