Job TitlePhysicianJob DescriptionThe Physician's duties include:Team leadership and development of multidisciplinary collaboration on inpatient unitImplementation and maintenance of JAHCO and VA guidelines for inpatient psychiatric careProvision of evidence and community based assessment and care of psychiatric patients including current pharmacologic and other standard therapeutic treatmentsActive participation in multidisciplinary treatment and discharge planningFacilitation of reasonable lengths of stays and limited recidivism as possibleProvides active supervision and teaching for Albany Medical Center psychiatric residents and other trainees as neededParticipating in quality improvement initiatives and outcome data initiativesProviding patient and family health education with a focus on self-management, prevention and wellness based on the patient's goalsOrdering, conducting, supervising and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory testsProvision of inpatient consultations to Medicine/Surgery and Emergency Room servicesMentoring, educating, and disseminating information regarding current clinical practices as part of a multidisciplinary teamProvides on call duties as assignedOther clinical duties as assigned by Chief of PsychiatryVA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
