Assistant Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assists in managing Sonic Drive-In operations and assumes responsibility in the absence of management. Trains and supports employees to ensure the delivery of quality food in a clean, safe, and efficient environment, providing guests with an enjoyable experience. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Manages, trains, monitors, and coaches crew members, carhops, and skating carhops. Directs and assigns employees to perform duties across various stations, ensuring operational standards for food preparation, appearance, and service are met. Ensures employee compliance with policies and addresses issues promptly, reporting violations to supervisors. Performs opening and closing duties according to company policies. Adjusts staffing levels as needed during shifts. Maintains inventory levels and food cost controls, completing weekly inventories. Completes administrative duties accurately and maintains documentation. Reinforces customer service priorities among staff. Responds promptly and respectfully to guest requests and reports complaints for resolution. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs all station duties as needed, including food prep, operating the switchboard, and drive-thru. Operates equipment and handles food and beverage preparation efficiently. Packages and serves food and drinks to customers. Handles physical tasks such as moving food products and disposing of trash. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards. Follows all legal and safety regulations and wears required uniforms and PPE. Performs other related duties as assigned. ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to heat, hot liquids, and cold environments depending on tasks and weather conditions. QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of the restaurant or retail industry; management experience preferred. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively. Basic math, reading, and computer skills. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Problem-solving skills and ability to multitask.
