This is an opportunity for a collaborative leader who can influence decisions, develop talent, and drive business results.Job SummaryManager Financial Planning manages financial planning, budgeting, regulatory finance, and financial modeling activities. This role also participates in and develops effective financial strategic solutions within the organization. This position communicates results and provides strategic financial recommendations driving positive financial results/changes across the organization. This role strives to enhance partnerships with customers and provides coaching and feedback to direct reports that is timely. Oversees financial analysis, including financial forecasting, annual operating plan, strategic financial plans, project plans, project analysis, rate case filings, and financial operational planning. Runs the annual financial operating plan process including objective/target development, analysis, and approval by management. Analyzes, evaluates, and develops forecasting models. Continuously identifies and implements improvements in risk management and operational efficiency. Maintains working knowledge of company strategy, initiatives, and risk profile, applying strategic knowledge in making business recommendations. Partners and collaborates with key stakeholders to develop solutions for better financial or strategic outcomes that align with the company’s overall strategic plan. Ensures measures are in place to identify, assess, respond, and communicate risks and opportunities. May be responsible for helping implement legal and accounting requirements, including rate order. May be responsible for assisting in the defense of company positions, including rate case revenue requirements and business segment/jurisdictional cost allocations to include responding to data requests. Engages in other duties as needed that support our Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities. Education RequirementsBachelor's Degree Emphasis in accounting, economics, finance, or related area Preferred Master's or Advanced Degree Preferred Certification Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or other financial certification Preferred Required Experience 5 years of related experience 3 years supervisory experience or equivalent. (Equivalent supervisory experiences may include project management, providing work direction, leadership experience through temporary assignments, roles in the community or external organizations, or other demonstrated progressively more leadership experience.) Preferred Experience Public accounting experience or utility, manufacturing, or related industry experience Other Requirements Support and foster a culture of belonging while demonstrating a strong commitment to equal employment opportunity. Demonstrated ability to use technology (e.g., Microsoft applications, Peoplesoft, and forecasting software). Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with operations personnel. Demonstrated competency in financial and regulatory modeling, planning and analysis. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
