Description

The Delivery Representative - Helper plays a critical role in supporting our delivery operations and ensuring customers receive their orders safely, accurately, and on time. This position works alongside delivery drivers, assisting with customer deliveries throughout New York City, including routes that require deliveries by foot.

This is a physically demanding, fast-paced, outdoor role that requires frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of customer orders in varying weather conditions.

What You'll Do

• Assist delivery drivers with transporting and delivering customer orders.
• Complete deliveries on foot in designated New York City neighborhoods.
• Load, unload, lift, lower, and carry packages safely and efficiently.
• Work collaboratively with drivers and Operations teams to meet delivery schedules.
• Utilize smartphones for route information and two-way communication with Operations.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries.
• Complete all required onboarding, safety, and recurring training programs.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
• Work flexible schedules, including weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays as required.
• Represent FreshDirect's culture and values with every customer interaction.

What You'll Bring

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work both Saturday and Sunday.
• Flexibility to work morning and/or evening shifts.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, rain, and snow.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with appropriate equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to navigate routes independently and efficiently.
• Comfort using smartphones and mobile applications.
• Prior customer service or delivery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of handheld scanning devices preferred.
• Knowledge of New York City streets and neighborhoods preferred.

Salary

$17 per hour
