Senior AccountantSDL is partnering with a reputable non-profit in Boston looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing general ledger activities, assisting with monthly and annual closings, financial reporting, audits, and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong nonprofit accounting experience who thrives in a collaborative and mission-focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsManage the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processesAssist with the preparation of grant reports and funder financial statementsSupport the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditorsEnsure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standardsMonitor and report on restricted and unrestricted fundsCollaborate with program and development teams to provide financial insightsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisIdentify process improvements and assist with system upgrades or implementationsMaintain internal controls and support finance policy updates as neededQualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance preferredNon profit accounting experience highly preferredWorkday experience desired, not requiredExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
