Job Title Assistant Professor, HPER (Health, Physical Education, andRecreation) Essential Job Functions Conducts a requisite number of classes/Teaches assignedsubjects Provides guidance and supervision to students Creates and maintains an environment conducive to excellence inteaching, learning, and research Preparation and formulation of curricula focused on his/hersubject(s) Participates in departmental meetings and holds scheduledoffice hours Maintains equipment in the laboratory, makes arrangements forlaboratory practical sessions, and provides materials tostudents Provides academic support to other faculty members Serves on departmental and University committees, asassigned Coordinates (or assists with the coordination of) the SportsManagement Program Other related duties, as assigned Qualifications Doctor of Philosophy in Health, Physical Education, Recreation,Sports Management, or related discipline Published works preferred Three (3) years' experience in higher education Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledgeable of National Association for Sport and PhysicalEducation (NASPE) Standards Demonstrated integrity, loyalty and time managementskills Strong analytical, observational, and problem-skillsskills Excellent research, writing and interpersonal skills Excellent communication and collaborative skills Passion for teaching and engaging with students Skilled in mentoring students Ability to work well with colleagues and foster a collegialenvironment conducive to teamwork and students’ high level oflearning #J-18808-Ljbffr The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc.
