Seasonal Yard Driver, Joppa – Full Time Job Overview Macy’s Yard Drivers perform all functions related to the process of moving trailers within the facility as directed by the Management team. Work Hours Full-time colleagues typically work 30 or more hours per week; part-time colleagues 12–24 hours per week. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. What You Will Do Load and unload merchandise and supplies Pick up and deliver merchandise and supplies to various departments Drive company vehicles (must have a valid driver’s license) Refuel vehicles Will be trained on all power equipment operations Work outdoors in all weather conditions Promote an environment of acceptance and respect for colleagues, customers, and communities Who You Are High school diploma or equivalent (encouraged) No prior experience required Able to move trailers up to 53 feet in length efficiently under tight conditions Knowledge of yard tractor trailers and dollies to spot issues or potential problems Clean driving record Can read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals Resourceful, self‑starter who works well independently and as part of a team Basic knowledge of computers and handheld technology Flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and holidays Essential Physical Requirements Prolonged standing/walking around the store or department May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, depth perception, and color vision Frequent use of computers and handheld electronic equipment Frequent lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs Benefits Competitive pay and comprehensive health and wellness coverage, along with a 401(k) match.
