Technical Sales Representative (Midwest Territory)

We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to sell Analytical Chemistry Products (SPE Consumables and Instruments) in the assigned territory to CRO, Pharmaceutical, Clinical, Forensics, Academic, Government and related accounts. Remote: Greater Chicago area. Covers the Midwest territory Tasks and Responsibilities: Achieve defined monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for revenue, profitability for the territory and specific product volumes. Discover and characterize the problems and/or unmet needs of prospective and current customers in order to effectively develop appropriate winning solutions (ensuring customer success) Expand customer knowledge of Biotage products and their benefits via sales calls, seminars, and hands on demonstration Identify and develop new customer relationships (add new customer accounts and expand current customer relationships) First line of support to customers with hands‑on development and troubleshooting of SPE Sample Prep Methods at customer's sites. Train customers on most successful ways to achieve maximum value from Biotage products. Collaborate with Biotage Applications Scientist in the development of advanced or challenging SPE Sample Prep Methods Collect and provide feedback from customers on experiences and success level with Biotage products. Demonstrate Biotage equipment either at customer site or via virtual call in order to facilitate sale of product(s). Communicate regularly with the Inside Sales group to leverage opportunities. Provide on time and accurate sales forecasts. Timely follow up and qualification of leads and document results in CRM platform. Accurate and up to date documentation of sales activities and opportunity status in CRM platform. Represent the company at conferences as needed. Generate quotes and negotiate pricing within authorized limits. Skill Requirements/Education/Experience Required: Excellent verbal, written, active listening, negotiation, and persuasion communication skills Ability to manage time effectively, be a self‑starter, be creative, and have strong organizational skills Able to work in a fast‑paced, self‑directed environment with shifting priorities Demonstrated success dealing with the complex pricing issues involved in government and other granting agencies is a plus. Proficient computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and CRM software (Salesforce.com) Ability to work within a team Bachelor's degree in science related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience working in a chemistry laboratory environment with Biotage or related workflow tools is a plus. Proven track record of success in sales and account management is highly desirable. Experience selling scientific equipment is a plus. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills Travel Required: 60-70% travel for first year; 50-60% once established with core customers throughout territory. 3-5 (average of 3.5) days per week in the field directly interfacing with prospects and customers. 1-2 overnights per week (varies depending upon home base of employee) #J-18808-Ljbffr Biotage
