Head Volleyball Coach

Head Volleyball Coach – All Honors High School Dominican Academy, an all‑honors high school that is part of the Archdiocese of NY and sponsored by the Dominican Veritas Ministries, seeks a head coach for our varsity volleyball team for the fall season. The school is a member of the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) and draws students from diverse backgrounds who are motivated to become compassionate leaders. Candidates should be aware of the school’s Catholic mission and its commitment to developing each student‑athlete’s mind, body, heart and spirit both on and off the court. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree, preferably in physical education or a related field. Experience as a volleyball player or coach and knowledge of volleyball rules and regulations. Training or willingness to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS), including CPR/AED and Epinephrine Auto‑Injector (EAI). Effective communication with student‑athletes, parents, and administration. Attentiveness to the social‑emotional needs of high school students. A passion for motivating student‑athletes and fostering team bonding and school spirit through athletics. Key Responsibilities Conduct practice sessions and attend games after school hours during the week, which may include travel to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester and Staten Island. (Team and coaches travel on a chauffeured bus.) Ensure the conduct of the team during practices and games and maintain compliance with the CHSAA’s code of conduct (provided separately). Additional Information Season begins in mid‑August with team tryouts, pre‑season practices and tournaments, and ends in late October or early November depending on playoffs.
