Requisition ID: 15013ERP Eligible?: YesRelocation: PossibleType: ExemptShift: 1Clearance Prior to Start: NoneFinal Clearance: SecretPay Transparency: $148,300.00 - $275,500.00Experience Level: Experienced ProfessionalFT/PT/Casual: FullTimeDepartment: MFC-PrimaryBusiness Unit: MFC-PrimaryStandard Job DescriptionYou will be the Circuit Design Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin  Missiles and Fire Control (MFC). Our team delivers precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, designing, building and fielding the electrical hardware that powers missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems for the United States and allied militaries.What You Will Be DoingAs the Circuit Design Engineer you will lead a multidisciplinary ROIC design group, define innovative architectures, and craft analog, mixed‑signal, and digital circuit blocks. You will partner with sensor, systems, and layout engineers to ensure the ROIC integrates seamlessly into the full IR sensor stack, while also managing project timelines, foundry interactions, and customer reviews. Your responsibilities will include:Defining ROIC system requirements and creating high‑level architecture concepts that meet performance, power, and cost goals.Designing and simulating key circuit blocks: advanced CMOS pixel arrays, ADCs, bias generators, digital control logic, memory, PLLs, and high‑speed transceivers.Overseeing schematic and layout coordination with dedicated layout engineers, ensuring DFM (design‑for‑manufacture) best practices.Conducting lab testing, debugging, and characterization of fabricated ROICs to validate functionality and performance.Managing the full design flow—from RTL/RTL‑C to physical implementation—using industry‑standard EDA tools.Leading project plans, schedules, and risk‑management activities; reporting status to program leadership and customers.Preparing and presenting technical documentation and design‑review material to internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external customers.Coordinating with CMOS foundries for mask set generation, process selection, and fabrication support.Collaborating with sensor, optics, and systems engineers to guarantee seamless integration of the ROIC into complete IR imaging modules.Mentoring junior IC designers, fostering an inclusive, knowledge‑sharing culture, and organizing technical training sessions.Why Join UsDo you want to be part of a company culture that empowers employees to think big, lead with a growth mindset, and make the impossible a reality? Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master's degree strongly preferredMinimum 8 years of professional experience with electrical hardware design or a closely related discipline (or 6+ years with a Master's degree in a related STEM field)Deep expertise across multiple electrical engineering domains, including: electrical hardware design for development and production phases in aerospace or a similar industry; complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies (CCA), harnesses, and system-level interconnects; root-cause analysis and corrective action for hardware and software failures; and Material Review Board (MRB) dispositioning of non-conforming hardwareDemonstrated experience as the electrical engineering technical lead on a major effort, with responsibility for system architecture, integration, and sustainment across a programStrong hands-on skills with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, power supplies, and automated test equipmentDemonstrated ability to lead IPT efforts across multiple concurrent programs, present to program leadership and government customers, and manage multiple prioritiesExperience supporting proposal development, including technical volume authoring, basis-of-estimate, and competitive technical strategy on major hardware capturesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to brief executive leadership, customers, and non-technical audiencesMust be a US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearanceDesired SkillsActive DoD Secret or Top Secret clearanceMaster's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related STEM fieldCross-Business Area engagement and large-program technical-lead experienceExperience with MFC circuit card design processes and the Design Assurance process at the program-ownership levelExceptional communication skills - ability to professionally communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy to executive audiencesExperience with missile systems or hypersonic weapon systems across a program portfolioProject management skillsets including leadership, planning/organization, risk management, and financial acumen at the program levelExperience applying Control Account Management (CAM) and EVMS methodologiesSuccessful proposal/capture leadership experience (BOE, technical volume authoring, technical strategy) on major hardware programsDemonstrated ability to lead technical investigations to determine root cause of hardware and software failures across multiple programsExperience developing system-level architectures and grounding diagrams at the platform levelPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
