Description

Our client, the U.S.'s largest commercial real estate services firm, is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to support a leading corporate facility in Fredericksburg, VA . This 3-month contract opportunity, with the potential to extend or convert, is ideal for a facilities professional with strong leadership, project management, and client relationship skills. The Facilities Manager will oversee building operations, coordinate maintenance activities, manage work orders and projects, and serve as a key point of contact between the client and engineering teams. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Oversee daily building operations to ensure the facility is operating safely and efficiently.
Manage work orders from initiation through completion while ensuring timely execution.
Coordinate maintenance projects and facility improvement initiatives.
Partner closely with the engineering team to prioritize repairs and preventive maintenance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through proactive communication and exceptional customer service.
Coordinate vendors and contractors performing work within the facility.
Monitor building systems and support operations involving HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and engineering infrastructure.
Track project progress and ensure deadlines are met.
Utilize facility management systems to manage work orders, documentation, and reporting.
Support operational planning and continuously identify opportunities to improve facility performance.

Qualifications

5+ years of facilities management or building operations experience.
Strong knowledge of commercial building systems including HVAC, plumbing, engineering, and plant operations.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines.
Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Comfortable working with facility management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications

College degree preferred.
Additional experience managing commercial building operations or engineering teams.
Experience overseeing vendors, maintenance contracts, and capital or facility improvement projects.
