Your Role and Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic assessments, and developing tailored care plans
• Diagnosing as well as treating acute, episodic, or chronic conditions either independently or in partnership with physicians (based on credentials)
• Providing education to patients and their families regarding preventive care, wellness, and chronic disease management
• Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance to your scope of practice

• Documenting consistently and accurately using electronic medical records (EMR)

Education Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Mandatory Certifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Michigan
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an appropriate specialty equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain them within 90 days)
