Overview:
A Level II trauma facility is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to provide coverage for both scheduled clinic duties and call. This role requires strong experience in cardiac surgery, including vein harvesting and operative support.

Compensation:

$200/hr

Schedule:

June 7 (8:00 AM) June 14 (8:00 AM)
Weekdays: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM + night call
Weekends: 24-hour call
Call ratio: 1:2
Ongoing dates available

Practice Details:

Setting: Hospital (Level II Trauma Center)
EMR: Not specified
Mix of clinic, OR support, and call coverage
Cardiothoracic surgery program with moderate case volume

Case Volume:

125 CABG cases annually (few emergent)

Responsibilities:

First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
Provide inpatient and perioperative patient care
Participate in clinic coverage
Take weekday night call and weekend 24-hour call
Collaborate with surgical team and hospital staff

Requirements:

Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) Required
Active Iowa License Required
Minimum 2 years Cardiothoracic Surgery experience Required
EVH experience Required
ACLS and BLS Required
Clean malpractice/background Required
NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) Required
Must be able to cover listed dates Required

Must be able to obtain privileges prior to start
