About the Position
Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner
Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner for PRN coverage in a hospital-based orthopedic practice. Responsibilities include clinic, surgical assistance, inpatient rounding, emergency department consults, trauma coverage, and orthopedic call. Compensation: Hourly: $140/hr, Overtime: $195/hr, Night Call: $330,Call Back: $195/hr. SchedulePRN coverage as needed
Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Weeknight call required
Weekend 24-hour call required
August start possible

Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
No telehealth
Teaching environment with Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and PA student rotations Responsibilities
Orthopedic clinic
Surgical assistance in the OR
Post-operative inpatient rounding
Emergency department consultations
Orthopedic and trauma call coverage
Fracture care and orthopedic evaluations Procedures & Case Mix
Total hip replacement
Total knee replacement
Total shoulder replacement
Hand surgery
Wrist surgery
Knee surgery
Shoulder surgery
Hip surgery
Ankle surgery
Foot surgery
Trauma injuries
Fracture care
Sports medicine
General orthopedic conditions Practice Details

Nursing support and cast technicians
Dedicated reception and surgery scheduling staff
2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms
Average hospital census: approximately 160 patients/day
Serves a regional population of over 200,000 EMR

Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner
Active Iowa license or Active Compact/IMLC LOQ required
Clean malpractice history
