SOFTWARE ENGINEER (Industrial Automation & Cloud Systems)Location: Houston, TX HybridAbout the Role: Our client is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with proven experience working with Siemens and Schneider Electric systems, as well as a strong background in designing and deploying cloud-based data systems. This role bridges industrial automation and modern cloud technologies, playing a key part in building scalable, secure, and data-driven solutions for industrial environments.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain software systems that interface with Siemens PLCs, SCADA, and Schneider Electric automation platforms. Build and deploy cloud-based data systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for collecting, storing, and analyzing data from industrial equipment. Develop secure and reliable IoT data pipelines, integrating edge devices with cloud services. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting cloud-infrastructure and data flows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including control systems engineers, cloud architects, and data analysts. Ensure compliance with industry standards, including security, data governance, and high availability. Support deployment and troubleshooting in live production environments. Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Bilingual in English and Chinese. 1+ years of hands-on experience working with Siemens (e.g., TIA portal, WinCC, S7 PLCs) and/or Schneider Electric (e.g., EcoStruxure, Modicon PLCs) platforms. Strong programming skills in Python, C#, or Java. Experience designing and deploying cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, GCP Pub/Sub). Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT). Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines. Preferred Skills:Experience with data lake architecture, time-series databases, and streaming data frameworks (e.g., Kafka, InfluxDB). Understanding of Industry 4.0 principles and digital twin technologies. Certifications from AWS, Azure, or GCP. Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices in industrial and cloud environments.
