Position Information Recruitment/Posting Title: Instructor of Professional Practice Department: Social Work Salary: Minimum $85,588 Posting Summary The Department of Social Work at Rutgers University‑Newark seeks a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track, calendar‑year Instructor of Professional Practice to serve as the Assistant Director of Practicum Education. Responsibilities include supporting the coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of practicum education, teaching practicum placement coordination, and maintaining communication with students and practicum partners in accordance with EPAS and CSWE standards. Teaching will involve courses related to practicum or practice coordination, using reflective and competency‑based instructional approaches that integrate students’ practicum experiences with professional expectations. Evening and Saturday availability is required. Responsibilities Coordinate, deliver, and continuously improve practicum education. Teach practicum placement coordination courses. Communicate with students and practicum partners to ensure compliance with EPAS and CSWE standards. Support student learning and practicum quality. Maintain reflective and competency‑based instructional practices. Provide evening and Saturday support as needed. Qualifications MSW from a CSWE‑accredited school of social work. Experience teaching social work courses at the college level. Minimum three (3) years of post‑MSW professional practice experience. At least two (2) years of experience as a practicum instructor with SIFI certification. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Licensed social worker preferred. Certifications / Licenses License in social work preferred.
