Companion/Sitter ### Laurel Path Home Services - Black Mountain, NC $25/hour | Part-Time | Non-Medical Home Care Laurel Path Home Services is a small, locally owned non-medical home care agency based in Black Mountain, North Carolina. We have just completed the licensure process and are looking for Companion/Sitters to join our team. Laurel Path is being built around a simple idea: older adults often need dependable help and companionship at home without needing medical or intensive personal care. We want companion/sitter to have the time to know the people they work with rather than rushing between a large number of short visits. ### What You'll Do Depending on an individual client's plan of care, responsibilities may include: - Companionship and conversation - Accompanying clients on walks or community outings - Grocery shopping and errands - Transportation to appointments or activities - Meal preparation - Light housekeeping - Laundry and changing linens - Helping clients maintain everyday routines - Providing reminders and general non-medical support - Observing and reporting changes or concerns to the RN Service Supervisor - Completing simple documentation of services provided Laurel Path does not provide skilled nursing care. Our current service model also does not include bathing, dressing, toileting, medication administration, or other hands-on personal care. ### What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: - Dependable and punctual - Patient, attentive, and comfortable spending time with older adults - Able to work independently in clients' homes - Respectful of clients' privacy, preferences, homes, and routines - A clear communicator - Comfortable preparing simple meals and helping with ordinary household tasks - Able to recognize and report concerns appropriately - Able to complete required orientation, training, competency verification, background screening, and other employment requirements - Able to travel to clients in Black Mountain and surrounding communities Previous caregiving, home-care, senior-care, or related experience is welcome but not necessarily required for the right candidate. ### Schedule This is a part-time position . Once regular client services begin, Laurel Path intends whenever possible to provide sitters with consistent assignments to a small number of households , rather than constantly changing clients and schedules. ### Compensation $25/hour Approved agency travel between client assignments will be reimbursed in accordance with Laurel Path policy. ### About Laurel Path Laurel Path Home Services is being developed as a small, relationship-centered home care agency serving Black Mountain and surrounding communities.
