Physical Therapist (PT)

Location Altru Clinic | Devils Lake 1001 7th St. NE Devils Lake, ND 58301 Pay Range $37.26 - $55.89 per hour Summary The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients in compliance with licensure standards. The therapist works with an interdisciplinary team that contributes towards a patient directed goal, identifies potential barriers to discharge, and ongoing therapy services. The Physical Therapist provides patient centered care while exercising judgment to plan, organize, and prioritize workload. Essential Job Functions Evaluate, develop, and implement an intervention plan using methods that are effective and meaningful to the patient's plan of care through remediation, restoration, compensation/adaptation, disability prevention, and health promotion. Provide intervention, evaluation, and documentation of goal progress, modify intervention methods as needed, and work with therapy team members to achieve patients' goals. Orient patients, families, and other appropriate parties to the purpose and procedures of the physical therapy evaluation and treatment, and provide appropriate patient/family education and teaching under the supervision of a Therapist. Provide supervision for therapy assistants and other aides in a collaborative manner. Develop and document a discharge plan when patient has reached goals, achieved maximum benefit from therapy, or does not desire to continue service. Provide appropriate follow‑up resources, services, and training of patient and family members as appropriate. Obtain and document all required and pertinent patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plan of care. Meet requirements of third‑party payers by including appropriate documentation following window periods and other insurance guidelines. Perform pain assessment and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department or organization. Work Experience Preferred: A minimum of 1 year related experience. Language Requirements Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members. Certification Requirements Physical Therapist license from the North Dakota Board of Physical Therapy – prior to start date. Driver's License with acceptable driving record – current state licensed – prior to start date. Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association – within 90 days of start date.
