Location: North Carolina (candidate must reside in North Carolina)

Schedule: Part-time, On-call, Non-exempt | Candidate will have the flexibility to work from their home office

Travel: Candidate can expect to travel about 50% of the time throughout North Carolina

What You'll Do

• Provide land acquisition services throughout the right-of-way lifecycle, in compliance with project guidelines and regulations
• Review and correct title takeoffs, construction plans, and ROW documents; prepare and submit Waiver Valuation Forms
• Deliver property rights documents to owners and representatives; negotiate and secure parcels through approved counteroffers
• Maintain contact documentation, conduct final title checks, manage back taxes, and ensure removal of compensated items
• Submit and track offer letters, counteroffers, and Releases of Damages; attend field reviews and provide weekly status reports
• Handle administrative tasks including mailing notifications, filing deeds, verifying condemnation parcel addresses, and organizing acquisition packets
• Submit vendor forms to expedite payments and support efficient project closeout

Minimum Requirements

• Active North Carolina Real Estate license
• Active North Carolina Notary or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
• Proficient with MS Office Suite — specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
• An iOS or Android smartphone to access ORC's systems
• Valid driver's license

• Public Sector Agent 1 — $28.14– $33.61 | Minimum of 1 year Right of Way acquisition experience
• Public Sector Agent 2 — $32.06– $38.27 | Minimum of 3 years Right of Way acquisition experience
• Public Sector Agent 3 — $37.25– $44.45 | Minimum of 5 years of Right of Way acquisition experience

Driving is an essential function of the role and may involve extended periods and long-distance travel. Fieldwork may require walking over uneven terrain, standing, or navigating outdoor environments, with routine exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and snow. The role also involves frequent interaction with a diverse range of individuals, including landowners, government officials, and members of the public, requiring the ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism across differing personalities and potentially challenging situations. xhyhwjd Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to accommodate travel, site access, and stakeholder availability, along with adherence to safety protocols in both office and field settings.
