Merrill Advisor Development Program - Financial Advisor: Delaware South Jersey Market

Role Summary As a Merrill Advisor Development Program – Financial Advisor, you will work with high‑net‑worth individuals to identify needs, develop relationships, review financial goals, and deliver comprehensive recommendations that align with client objectives. You will also collaborate with and be mentored by Merrill Financial Advisor teams to build portfolio growth. Responsibilities Develop a book of business to meet and exceed performance hurdles Prioritize sourcing prospective clients, capitalize on referrals, assess needs, refer to specialists, and execute customized solutions Recommend suitable investment products and services based on objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences Balance investment growth, referral activities, client follow‑up, prospect building, administrative compliance, and personal development Organize and manage resources (time, people, budget) to run a productive practice Consult with specialists to identify planning and investment strategies for clients Complete mandated training, assessments, performance goals, and continuing education requirements Handle inbound inquiries from leads regarding Merrill offerings Position the extensive capabilities of Merrill and Bank of America Collect necessary client profile data following KYC procedures to open account(s) as appropriate Provide recommendations of investment products and services that are suitable for prospects and clients based on objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences Document all client interactions and opportunities within Salesforce accurately Required Qualifications Current Series 7 & 66 licenses (or 63 & 65 in lieu of 66) Minimum one year experience in the financial services industry or a sales environment with goals met or exceeded Minimum one year experience in the investment industry, including investment training and in‑depth knowledge of investment products and services Proven ability to engage with and influence others Exceptional interpersonal and relationship‑building skills Effective written and verbal communication skills with a history of building trust and credibility Proven ability to assess needs and recommend appropriate solutions or interventions Proven ability to collaborate on a team and with key partners Active listening and probing for clarity and understanding Goal‑ and results‑oriented mindset with an entrepreneurial approach to sourcing clients through prospecting and networking Ability to work in a performance‑based compensation environment Strong follow‑through skills Computer and technical literacy in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of one year of financial services industry or sales experience Ability to learn and adapt to new technology or applications Multitasking capability with simultaneous task execution Key Skills Business Acumen Business Development Oral Communications Prospecting Wealth Planning Analytical Thinking Client Experience Branding Client Investments Management Portfolio Analysis Risk Management Active Listening Client Solutions Advisory Emotional Intelligence Referral Management Trading Additional Requirements This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Failure to obtain and maintain registration may result in immediate termination. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 annualized salary, with eligibility for a formulaic incentive plan based on performance metrics.
