X-ray Technician

The X-ray Technician will play a vital role in providing high-quality imaging services in an acute care setting. The successful candidate will adhere to established protocols and contribute to patient care through effective communication and advanced technical skills.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform X-ray procedures according to established safety protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a comfortable environment for patients.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate and timely imaging results.
• Manage and document imaging procedures in compliance with hospital standards.
• Assist in training and mentoring new staff as needed.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility to work 32 hours per week, including 1st or 2nd shifts, along with weekend and holiday coverage. Potential shifts include:

• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM
• 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Scheduled days of the week will vary and may include Friday through Wednesday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). An Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution or appropriate military training is required.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting is required.

Licensure and Certification

• Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R)(ARRT)) or eligibility for registration, with completion required within 6 months of hire.
• Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is essential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Skills

• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications, including PACS and HIS/RIS.
• Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
• Capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
