Warehouse Associate - Joliet, ILThe Warehouse Associate plays a key role in supporting efficient warehouse operations by accurately receiving, sorting, storing, and preparing materials and products for shipment. This position involves working closely with other team members to ensure orders are processed correctly, inventory is maintained, and the work area remains clean, safe, and organized. The role requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to established procedures and safety standards, and the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.ResponsibilitiesMove materials off trucks, pallets, or racks and prepare orders for shipment in an accurate and timely manner.Sort and segregate materials onto the correct pallet or designated locations based on item numbers and warehouse processes.Place labels on boxes, pallets, and other materials as instructed, ensuring proper identification and tracking.Wrap pallets using stretch wrap and other packaging supplies to secure products for storage and shipment.Put away product in designated warehouse locations, maintaining organized and efficient storage areas.Identify damage, loss, or surplus of materials and promptly communicate issues to appropriate team members.Utilize RF (Radio Frequency) scanners and related equipment to track product movement and update inventory records.Perform picking, packing, shipping, receiving, order picking, and general material handling tasks as needed.Operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment safely to move and organize inventory.Support warehouse inventory activities by assisting with counting, verifying, and recording stock levels.Keep the work environment clean and safe by following housekeeping standards and maintaining organized work areas.Follow quality service standards and comply with all procedures, rules, and regulations, including safety guidelines.Communicate and cooperate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to meet operational goals.Understand and follow written and verbal instructions related to daily tasks and warehouse procedures.Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.Essential SkillsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift.Ability to work in typical warehouse temperatures and conditions.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.Strong attention to detail when sorting, labeling, picking, packing, and preparing orders.Ability to communicate clearly and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.Experience with material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving products.Ability to use RF scanner equipment to track product and update inventory.Capability to follow safety procedures and quality service standards consistently.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with picking, packing, packaging, and order picking in a warehouse environment.Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including preparing and processing outbound and inbound shipments.Experience as a material handler, including receiving, shipping, sorting, and storing materials.Familiarity with pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment for moving and organizing inventory.Experience with warehouse inventory activities such as counting and verifying stock.Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Ability to comply with established procedures, rules, and regulations, including safety policies.Why Work Here?Employees join a culture grounded in servant leadership, where teamwork and support are highly valued. Employees typically work a 6-day schedule, Sunday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with the option to work an additional hour until 5:00 PM when available. This 6-day, 9-hour work schedule applies to all employees, including new hires, until further notice. The environment involves regular physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and operating pallet jacks and RF scanners. The warehouse maintains typical industrial temperatures, and employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace. During peak season through October 3rd, each employee earns an additional $3 per hour, reflecting the increased activity and commitment to supporting high-volume operations.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Joliet, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
