MRI Support Specialist - Part Time

Pre-registers and registers patients with accurate patient demographic and financial data. Collects patient balances , co-payment, co-insurance, or other payment types. Verifies coverage and ensures all insurance requirements are met. Assists with departmental coverage as needed. Assists MRI technologist with patient positioning and ensures adherence to MRI safety protocols. Manages daily appointment schedules which may include reminder calls, referral calls, and scheduling. May transport patients utilizing escort or wheelchairs. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements This position requires knowledge of insurance and/or patient scheduling, excellent customer service, and ability to multi-task in a busy environment. Summary Slocum Orthopedics is recruiting for a part time, 20 hours per week, MRI Support Specialist. This position works primarily Friday and Saturday, and is not anticipated to work enough hours to qualify for benefits. This position works in MRI and is responsible for assisting with the flow of patients, and understanding/applying the safety regulations required for the MRI room and department. This position also assists in coordinating the activities of the MRI department with scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification.
