Emergency Medicine Physician

A healthcare facility in Englewood, FL, is seeking a flexible and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity. This role involves providing high-quality, timely care to patients with acute medical needs in a dynamic and patient-focused Emergency Department. The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emergency conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and effective treatment. This position requires the ability to work day, night, and weekend shifts. Practice Info Emergency Department has an annual volume of 20,000 visits. Supported by 24-hour daily physician coverage with 12-hour shifts. Phlebotomy services are available during surges, sepsis or stroke alerts, and difficult cases. Facility provides advanced imaging services, including MRI, CT scans, X-ray, and ultrasound. Responsibilities Provide high-quality, timely care to patients presenting with acute medical needs. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emergency medical conditions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and effective treatment. Utilize diagnostic tools such as imaging and laboratory tests to guide clinical decisions and deliver appropriate care. Accurately and promptly document patient care in alignment with the facility's protocols to ensure continuity of care and compliance with established guidelines. Shift & Schedule Ability to work day, night, and weekend shifts. 12-hour shifts. Requirements Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) or Family Practice/Internal Medicine with at least two years of current Emergency Medicine experience. Strong clinical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Active Florida medical license and DEA certification.
