Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician – Production Services (Contractor)

Location : Oceanside, CA
Pay : $24/hr.
Work Schedule & Shifts:
This is a 24/7 manufacturing site with the following available shifts (subject to business need):

• Day Shift: 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday
• Swing Shift: 12:30 pm – 11:00 pm, Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday Onboarding may require a multi-week Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 am–5:00 pm), followed by shift-specific training.

Position Overview:
As a Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician, you will play a critical role in the production of medicines by operating advanced, automated equipment in a compliant, regulated (cGMP) environment. You will follow precise production recipes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to execute manufacturing processes, maintain documentation, and ensure product quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate production equipment across multiple manufacturing areas, including raw material handling, cell culture (Upstream), and product purification (Downstream).
• Accurately dispense and aliquot raw materials and prepare intermediates for manufacturing use.
• Support single-use operations by kitting materials and preparing small-scale solutions.
• Wash, autoclave, and prepare equipment parts and assemblies, ensuring readiness for production use.
• Perform environmental monitoring and uphold strict adherence to cGMP and safety standards.
• Maintain meticulous production records, following all regulatory and quality requirements.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment while meeting production timelines and quality targets.

Opportunities in Production Services:
In the Production Services area, you will be responsible for:

• Weighing and aliquoting raw materials for use in stainless steel manufacturing operations.
• Supporting single-use workflows through material preparation and solution kitting.
• Preparing equipment and components by washing, autoclaving, and assembling as required.
• Conducting routine environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with facility standards.

Who You Are:

• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Eager to learn and develop within a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
• Experience in biologics manufacturing is preferred, but not required.

• Prior experience working in a cGMP, ISO, or FDA-regulated cleanroom environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and a quality-first mindset.
• Effective communication skills and ability to establish constructive working relationships.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, verbal communication).
• Ability to work all assigned shifts, including overtime as needed, and stand for extended periods.
• Proficiency with computer-based systems and automated manufacturing equipment; experience with distributed control systems is a plus.
• Successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications in a cGMP environment (annual requalification required).
• Physically able to climb stairs (up to 6 flights/day) and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Able to comply with cleanroom gowning requirements (no makeup or jewelry permitted).
• Must not require visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.

Education & Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technical, or engineering discipline preferred.
• Experience in regulated industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, biomedical, electronics, chemicals, food, or cosmetics preferred.
• Understanding of bioprocessing technology, regulatory standards, and manufacturing theory is desirable.
