Manager Airport Duty

The Manager Airports Duty is responsible for all facets of day-to-day operational tasks. The role ensures quality, efficiency, and consistency in the execution and implementation of operational policies and standards. It also oversees the supervisors and crew members in ground operations, ticket counter, and gate areas, and serves as the primary point of contact for operational targets and goals. Responsibilities Ensure that the quality of customer service aligns with the high expectations customers have for JetBlue. Manage daily operations of a shift, including payroll issues, safety, staffing, and scheduling. Oversee daily flight operations to meet or exceed established performance goals. Monitor TSA inline screening of baggage and ensure timely processing of baggage. Resolve crew member and customer issues. Participate in ad‑hoc committees and respond to ad‑hoc requests to establish, develop or re‑visit guidelines, policies and/or procedures as they pertain to the operation or the crew members. Manage all business partner relationships and monitor performance and compliance. Be accountable to senior management for ensuring the safety and security of ground handling operations. Ensure that policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with applicable federal regulations and standards. Play a significant role in the development of crew members to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience. Five (5) years of leadership, management, or aviation experience. Three (3) years of prior Part 121 airline experience. Ability to travel and/or work flexible hours/shifts, including holidays and weekends. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to use handheld radios and microphones to communicate with operations and make all terminal announcements. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft services and company‑required software and applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency and attention to detail. Available for occasional overnight travel (10%). Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a driving record from the state of primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways insurance standards. Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge. Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre‑employment drug test. Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located. Authorization to work in the U.S. is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. For internal candidates, good standing in attendance, performance, and safety. Preferred Experience and Qualifications Two (2) years of prior operational experience. Regular attendance and punctuality. Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice; willingness to travel as needed for training and company‑sponsored meetings. Ability to maintain a professional appearance. If time permits, crew members are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft during JetBlue flights. Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and company policies, procedures, and risk controls. Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to duties and responsibilities. Tug, pushback tractor, forklift, de‑icing vehicle, and other ground service equipment. Subject to weather and elevated noise levels within airports. Ability to stand for an extended period of time. Shift work and irregular hours due to irregular operations. Physical Effort Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and/or seventy to one hundred (70–100) pounds occasionally with assistance of other people or tools, and being in a position where bending, crouching, kneeling, etc., is needed. Compensation The base pay range for this position is between $83,000.00 and $125,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space‑available travel on JetBlue, and more.
