Gabriel Horn Capital is expanding its North American team and seeking an entrepreneurial institutional salesperson to support the firm's fund placement, merchant banking, and alternative investment activities.

This is an opportunity for a motivated, relationship-oriented professional to work directly with the firm's senior team and clients on capital raising, transaction origination, and execution. The successful candidate will have meaningful responsibility, the ability to exercise independent commercial judgment, the access to invest in the funds and vehicles we raise, and significant performance-based compensation potential.

Our services span institutional fund placement, merchant banking, capital formation, co-investments, and secondary transactions involving limited partnership interests. We work with General Partners and independent sponsors to structure and execute capital raising and investment transactions, while connecting investment opportunities with our global network of institutional investors.

Our investor relationships include single- and multi-family offices, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, pension plans, and fund-of-funds.

Gabriel Horn Capital also invests alongside General Partners and has participated as a limited partner in more than 200 deals representing over $12 billion.

Responsibilities

• Institutional Fund Placement: Develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors across North America and execute fundraising mandates for private equity, private credit, and other alternative investment funds.
• Merchant Banking: Support the origination, structuring, marketing, and execution of capital raising and investment banking transactions for fund managers, independent sponsors, and other clients.
• Transaction Origination: Identify and evaluate co-investments, secondary transactions involving limited partnership interests, and other private market investment opportunities.
• Investor Coverage: Communicate with institutional investors to understand their portfolio objectives, investment criteria, and allocation priorities and introduce relevant fund offerings and transaction opportunities.
• Fundraising Execution: Coordinate investor roadshows, manage meeting schedules, distribute offering materials, and oversee investor follow-up.
• Research and Due Diligence: Evaluate prospective fund manager clients, investment opportunities, secondary transactions, and co-investments.
• Client Project Management: Support existing client mandates and coordinate fundraising and transaction execution with the firm's senior team.
• Business Development: Assist senior management in originating new fund placement mandates, merchant banking engagements, and client relationships.
• CRM and Reporting: Maintain accurate investor records, contact information, activity tracking, and pipeline reporting.

Qualifications

Experience

• Associate through Managing Director level.
• Ideally 1–7+ years of experience in private placement, institutional sales, investor relations, merchant banking, investment banking, or alternative investment capital raising.
• Prior placement agent or fundraising experience is preferred.
• Experience working with institutional investors, private equity funds, independent sponsors, or private market transactions is highly valued.

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

Investment Knowledge

• Private equity and private credit.
• Venture capital and real estate.
• Merchant banking and private capital transactions.
• Co-investments, secondary transactions, and independent sponsor financing.

Education and Licensing

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, marketing, engineering, or related discipline.
• MBA or CFA preferred.
• Applicable securities licenses, including Series 7, 63 or 65, and/or 79 or 82, as appropriate to the role and regulatory requirements.

Compensation and Structure

• Full-time, independent contractor position.
