Accounts Payable Assistant

LHH is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our accounting team in North Fort Worth. This position is responsible for supporting the accounts payable function by accurately processing invoices, maintaining vendor records, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely payments. The ideal candidate is organized, enjoys working with numbers, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Verify invoice coding and ensure proper approvals are obtained.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and maintain positive vendor relationships.
- Maintain accurate vendor files, including W-9s and payment information.
- Assist with month-end closing by preparing accounts payable reconciliations and accruals.
- Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for accounts payable documentation.
- Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial records.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and efficiency.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Experience processing high-volume invoices is preferred.
