Are you ready to move the world forward?The salary range for this position is $55,300 - $69,000 depending on experience.Essential FunctionsThis position reports into the Production SupervisorThis position schedules customer orders and establishes production schedules within established time requirements according to the following order of priorities; (1) satisfying customer due dates, (2) meeting shipment forecasts, (3) to achieve the best flow of work through the shop.Works closely with the Production Supervisor and Shift leads to see that customer requirements are properly executed and production schedules work well considering scheduling priorities.Maintains dates on customer orders and manufacturing so that the current report reflects the latest information.Promptly notifies the Production Supervisor each time a customer due date cannot be met or schedule date must be changed, explaining why.Actively pursues indications that a job may be falling behind schedule in order to provide the Production Supervisor as much time as is possible for corrective action.Works cooperatively with the Production Supervisor and Inventory Control to identify and requisition parts and materials in order to satisfy customer due dates.Create a level supply schedule that satisfies customer demand with optimum inventory levels and resource utilization as dictated by division policyIdentify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrityAssists Customer Service in coordinating customer requests, forwarding any additional information as necessary so that the requests are satisfied.Recommends and implements ways to improve scheduling processes and techniques.Other duties/responsibilities as required and/or assigned.Other Important Details About the RoleDevelop a working knowledge of Valmont products, manufacturing and scheduling processes to ensure optimal value stream schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling, load leveling, etc.Analyze the value stream demand and supply balance, determining out-of-balance conditions, identifying alternatives, and recommending action for approvalChallenge current manufacturing strategies for all product lines to be sure that the most customer-oriented strategy is being used. Look for ways to move the company to single piece flow.Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Associates Degree with 3+ years of experience or 5+ years of relevant experience3+ years' experience in supply chain or operations managementProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookAbility to work with minimal supervisionAttention to detail and quality in workHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Posses These QualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant fieldPrior experience setting up and planning with a Kanban pull systemDemonstrated abilities in visual scheduling and inventory optimizationPrior experience with master scheduling utilizing production family methodologiesThinks globally about the entire business and committed to supporting the needs and goals of an integrated global organizationAn understanding of priorities and balances short-term and long-term requirementsCommunicates openly and honestly in a clear and concise manner on an ongoing basisKnowledge of mathematics and data analysisPrior experience outsourcing manufactured goodsKnowledge of IFS planning, scheduling, and replenishment toolsWorking Environment and Physical EffortsWork is typically performed in an office setting, with occasional visits to manufacturing settings. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office and visit manufacturing facilities. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
