These modules will cover various aspects of the Komatsu Mining business areas including global product engineering, manufacturing supply chain & operations, Sales & Service, and international product support. Each module finishes with a presentation to the leadership teamIn addition to the project-based learning, participants will receiveUnderground Product Overview TrainingIndividual MentoringAbility to immerse you in a hands-on engineering experience, cradle to grave exposure to the products you will be working withCross functional experience to help broaden your knowledge across the organizationBuild leadership capabilities and communication skillsAmbition, drive and a passion for continued improvementBy the end of the residency program, participants will have a broad understanding of Komatsu Mining, will have built a professional network, gained skills that can be put to good use throughout their careers and developed a better understanding of the future career path they choose to follow.Key Job ResponsibilitiesPerform in engineering projects to develop, maintain and support components, products and/or services per market demands, as well as for continual process improvements.Perform or conduct engineering evaluations including investigations, basic calculations and tests that have well defined requirements and desired outcomesProvide conceptual and strategic solutions to solve problems that are associated with engineering projects or evaluationsTake responsibility for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of one's self and the organizationAct as a group leader for those who are supporting components, products and/or services as well as continual improvements in engineering processesParticipate in and support programs for effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with global standards for design and safety of products and services, as well as engineering best practicesParticipate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain and support components, products, and/or servicesParticipate in effective Change Management to achieve the desired organizational outcomes by successfully changing individual behaviors as neededDetermine the cause of a field problem and propose corrective action if appropriatePerform basic engineering evaluations, including calculations and testing as required, and consult with moreMake field trips to mines to observe machines in operation and gain an understanding of their application parameters. Develop ability to recognize problems and recommend corrective action.Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline, requiredInternship or full time experience in engineering design, machine application, mining industry, desiredExperienced in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools, desiredParticipation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desiredParticipation in effective Change Management implementation, desiredExperience in cross-functional team assignment(s), highly desiredCertifications or demonstrated project management, desiredProfessional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial.Key Skills Required by KomatsuCOLLABORATIONWorking together with one or more people to complete a project or task or develop ideas or processes.ADAPTABILITYHaving the ability to adjust to changes in their environment.
