About the Position

Job Title: OR RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7a-3:30p Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Preceptorship, charge, and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs. Experienced RNs will possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Ability to provide quality patient care is essential. Ability to assess patient's needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects is required. License: Current NYS RN license Certifications: BLS required ACLS preferred Must-Have: Must recognize safety issues to self and others. Ability to assess and implement the use of lifts to move patients safely. Must be able to function well in stressful situations. Possess good, creative, problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate. May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills are required. Knowledge in the use of typical clinical equipment utilized in providing a safe and/or aseptic environment in an OR setting is necessary. Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills are essential. On call required with a response time of 30 minutes.
