Registered Nurse (RN)This position offers a 36-hour night shift, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with requirements for every other holiday and weekend availability.Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care according to established nursing standards, practices, and policies. The role involves patient assessments, planning and implementing care interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes.Essential FunctionsConduct comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations of nursing interventions and patient goals.Deliver patient care in alignment with standards of care and practice protocols.Foster a respectful and dignified environment for patients, enhancing their self-regard and well-being.Educate patients and families based on identified learning needs and readiness to learn.Coordinate discharge planning and incorporate necessary support systems.Delegate and supervise nursing tasks performed by others appropriately.Prioritize patient care effectively and seek assistance when necessary.Document assessment findings, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.Communicate pertinent information to healthcare team members to ensure cohesive patient care.Encourage professional development and learning opportunities for self and colleagues.Identify and mitigate risks to patient safety, reporting incidents effectively.Administer medication and therapies in accordance with physician orders and protocols.Assess and reassess patient pain levels, documenting responses to treatment.Monitor and interpret cardiac arrhythmias and EKG changes.Manage intravenous therapy and anticoagulation protocols as necessary.Perform ongoing assessments during the post-operative phase, ensuring adherence to standards.Take part in multidisciplinary rounds for collaborative patient care planning and evaluation.Job RequirementsGraduate from an accredited school of nursing.Minimum of 1 year in medical-surgical nursing preferred; telemetry experience required; ICU experience preferred.Current RN license in Massachusetts; ACLS certification upon hire or must obtain within 60 days.CCRN certification preferred.Physical RequirementsThe role requires the ability to exert between 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently.
