Supervisory Social Worker

Job Title

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services and admission criteria to the programs.
• Assist the Chief of Social Work Service with the programs' resource and fiscal management, including monitoring control points, participation in the development of the budget, operating within the budget, and accounting for appropriated funds.
• Develop local policies and procedures in accordance to VHA and Medical Center policy, Federal, State and Local regulations, and Joint Commission requirements.
• Provide leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs and opportunities for assigned staff.
• Collect and maintain statistical and performance data, prepares reports and oversees performance improvement activities related to REC/PACT areas.
• Provide team leadership, conducting regular staff meetings to coordinate the provision of services in compliance with established policy and procedure.
• Provide Issue Briefs for reportable incidents to the Facility, VISN and VHACO.
• Oversee program operations and evaluations, identifying areas for improvement, gathering relevant data, assessing the data, developing and implementing ideas for improvement, and evaluating efficacy of improvement efforts.
• Evaluate the program and services and makes recommendations for new services based on outcome data, and develops new initiatives and refine current program policies and procedures to meet the needs of veterans enrolled in the program in an ever-changing environment.
• Coordinate educational and marketing services to veterans, staff and the community.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience.

Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
