South Pointe Hospital’s Emergency Department has 22 beds and provides 24/7 emergency services, ranging from minor injuries to critical and resuscitative care, to more than 35,000 patients of all ages each year. Known for their collaborative, team-based approach, this department strives to be the best place to receive care and is focused on providing an environment for caregivers to learn and become experts in their field. As Nursing Clinical Clerical, you will assist with various tasks, including both administrative functions and direct patient care. On the clerical end, you will perform data collection, maintain a safe environment and ensure an adequate level of supplies. Alongside a fellow nurse, you will ensure patients receive the correct treatments and daily support as indicated. This role offers a unique way to enhance both your administrative and nursing skills in a welcoming, supportive healthcare setting. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Collaborate with members of the health care team to promote the delivery of patient care and overall functioning of the unit. Observe and report changes in assigned patient's condition on an ongoing basis, assist with ambulating, give or assist with patient hygiene/care. Document activities in the patient record care. Provide and assist with transporting and discharge of patients. Accurately transcribe and process all orders and prepare, maintain and process all charts, files and records mail, maintain inventory and complete errands efficiently; maintain a clean, safe environment, and maintain an adequate level of supplies. Provide all communication between nursing unit, physicians, and departments with accuracy and courtesy. Assist patients and families with general information. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Basic computer skills Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross within new hire period. Nursing students must obtain prior to hire. Proficient in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at an eighth-grade level. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Completion of a Medical Assisting course Previous health care and patient care experience in a hospital setting. Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $18.25 Maximum hourly: $24.95 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
