Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC

Position Summary The Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician supports and oversees repair of Walmart’s refrigeration and HVAC equipment across local retail stores. The role requires commercial HVAC/R skills and the use of hand, power, and digital tools to complete jobs. Job Duties Maintain and repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC/R techniques. Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls. Inspect, operate, or test equipment to diagnose issues. Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely. Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s safety policy and environmental guidelines. Lift up to 75 pounds, move on ladders, and work comfortably at heights. Minimum Qualifications 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance. Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience. TypeI/TypeII EPA certification for refrigerant handling. Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report. At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift up to 75lbs, work on ladders, and function at heights. Preferred Qualifications Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program. Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located. Four years of mechanical maintenance or construction experience in commercial HVAC/R, building controls, or a related field. Compensation Hourly wage range $23.00 – $45.00. Additional premium pay may be awarded from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
