We are currently looking to bring aboard a Bankruptcy Associate Attorney at our Houston, TX office location — this position offers either an on-track (clear path towards partnership), off-track, or a reduced hour schedule.

We are looking for a candidate who ideally will have a minimum of 5 years of experience handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters, including complex reorganizations, creditor representations, and restructuring matters. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients across a variety of industries while providing practical solutions to financially distressed situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, including complex reorganization matters.
• Advise secured creditors, unsecured creditors, official committees, trustees, debtors, and other stakeholders throughout the bankruptcy process.
• Develop and implement strategies related to workouts, restructurings, asset protection, and distressed financial situations.
• Review financial and legal documents and provide practical guidance regarding risk management and asset preservation.
• Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy, briefing, courtroom presentations, and hearing preparation.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, proofs of claim, and other bankruptcy-related filings.
• Communicate regularly with trustees, bankruptcy courts, local counsel, opposing counsel, and client representatives.
• Attend creditor meetings, hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development and referral opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas.
• Minimum 5 years of experience focused on Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters.
• Experience representing a variety of parties, including secured creditors, unsecured creditors, committees, trustees, and debtors.
• Strong background in workouts, restructurings, and insolvency-related matters.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong business judgment, attention to detail, and professionalism.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Excellent academic credentials, strong references, and a proven record of professional achievement.
• Ability and desire to develop client relationships and contribute to practice growth.
