As a licensed therapist, you will work primarily within a dynamic school environment, leveraging our state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive resources tailored specifically for student support. This remote position requires collaboration with campus faculty, staff, and peers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student well-being. The work schedule will include regular business hours along with some evening availability during peak periods to accommodate students' needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough intake assessments and screenings for students exhibiting various mental health concerns, establishing individualized treatment plans that incorporate their unique requirements.

  • Provide short-term individual counseling services to help students manage a wide range of emotional and psychological issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders.

  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and wellness workshops focusing on topics such as stress management, self-esteem enhancement, and life skills development tailored for the student demographic.

  • Collaborate with academic advisors and student organizations to create a holistic support network, enhancing academic performance while emphasizing mental health awareness.

  • Engage in outreach and prevention programs, such as organizing mental health awareness campaigns and wellness events, to cultivate a culture of mental health support on campus.

  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential records of client interactions, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards in mental health practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position specifically serves a diverse student body in a school setting, working primarily with adolescents and young adults who face unique challenges related to their academic pressures, social transitions, and developmental milestones. Your insights and guidance will empower students to thrive both personally and academically, addressing concerns that influence their success.

Qualifications\n

  • An active and valid license in one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • \n
  • Proven understanding of the specific mental health challenges faced by college and high school students.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effectively engaging with students while collaborating with campus professionals.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices and an ability to apply brief therapy models that resonate with student needs.

  • Capacity to manage a diverse caseload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience\n

  • A minimum of two years of direct counseling experience within an academic, mental health, or youth-oriented setting.

  • Experience facilitating group therapy and educational workshops aimed at student populations.

  • Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and mental health outreach programming.
