Job Description

Best Choice Plumbing & HVAC is hiring an experienced Construction Project Manager / On-Site Supervisor to oversee an important new project in South Philadelphia along with other active development and construction projects.

 

The primary project is a historic building renovation being developed into a hotel and event space . This role may also support additional projects, including a 12-unit convent conversion, single-family unit development, and other active construction work .

 

This is a critical hire. We are looking for someone with real experience managing larger renovation, construction, development, or project supervision work of similar scale. The right candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, field-focused, and able to keep projects moving while coordinating crews, subcontractors, materials, timelines, documentation, and communication with ownership.

 

This is not just a desk project management role. This person needs to be comfortable being on-site, walking the job, identifying issues early, following up, holding people accountable, and keeping ownership updated directly.

 

A major plus would be someone who is field-capable and has hands-on construction or trade experience. The ideal bonus candidate would understand the work well enough to inspect quality, manage punch lists, identify issues early, and, when appropriate, help with smaller punch list items to keep the project moving.

• Are comfortable reporting directly to ownership
• Understand construction sequencing, jobsite coordination, punch lists, change orders, and closeout
• Can support multiple active projects when needed
• Take ownership and follow through without needing to be micromanaged
• Bonus: have hands-on construction or trade experience, including the ability to help with smaller punch list items when appropriate

This is not a good fit for someone who only wants an office role, avoids difficult conversations, does not follow up, cannot manage field accountability, or has not handled larger renovation or construction projects.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site project supervision for the South Philly historic building hotel/event space project
• Support other active projects, including a 12-unit convent conversion, single-family unit development, and other construction work
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, vendors, materials, schedules, and daily jobsite activity
• Monitor project progress and report updates directly to ownership
• Review project scope, drawings/plans, schedules, job details, and expectations
• Identify delays, missing materials, field issues, scope gaps, change orders, or quality concerns early
• Communicate clearly with ownership, crews, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal team members
• Track progress with notes, photos, updates, punch lists, and follow-up items
• Help keep projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward
• Support jobsite quality control and accountability
• Assist with project planning, sequencing, coordination, and closeout
• Help reduce bottlenecks and support the current project team
• Maintain professional communication and represent the company well on active project sites

Requirements

• Experience managing larger construction, renovation, development, or project supervision work
• Strong background in on-site project coordination or field supervision
• Experience with projects of similar scale, such as historic renovations, multifamily conversions, commercial projects, hotel/event space, high-end residential, or major renovations
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple moving parts at once
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to hold crews and subcontractors accountable
• Comfortable working directly with ownership
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel between Philadelphia-area project sites
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently

Preferred Experience

• Historic renovation experience
• Hotel, event space, hospitality, multifamily, commercial, or adaptive reuse project experience
• Plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or construction trade knowledge
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and field crews
• Experience with project schedules, materials, inspections, punch lists, closeout, and change orders
• Experience with large residential development or mixed-use projects
• Experience working directly with owners, developers, property managers, architects, engineers, or inspectors
• Project management software, ServiceTitan, Buildertrend, Procore, or similar system experience
• Hands-on construction, trade, renovation, or field experience is a major plus
• Ability to use basic tools and help with smaller punch list items when appropriate is a major plus
• Background as a working foreman, superintendent, lead carpenter, field supervisor, tradesman, or hands-on project manager is a plus
• Experience completing or supervising punch list work is a plus
