Human Resources Assistant

A well-respected consulting firm in Washington, DC is looking to add a detail-oriented and professional HR Assistant to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a team-driven environment and is looking to build or expand their HR experience.

We are looking for an organized and dependable HR Assistant to join a busy HR department on a contract basis. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day HR operations, including administrative support and coordinating key employee lifecycle processes. A strong sense of professionalism and discretion is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing general administrative support to the HR department to help maintain smooth daily operations
  • Coordinating meeting scheduling, gathering necessary documentation, assisting with promotion workflows, and distributing related communications
  • Assisting in facilitating onboarding and offboarding activities to support smooth employee transitions
  • Preparing meeting agendas and capturing accurate meeting minutes for HR team discussions

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience supporting an HR team in an administrative capacity
  • Background in a consulting or professional services environment is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday and ADP is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with care and discretion
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
