About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to provide visionary and innovative leadership for its Information Systems Department. The CIO will be responsible for strategic planning, policy development, and long-term technology planning to ensure that IT services align with the organization's priorities. This role involves overseeing a large and complex IT environment, leading a strong team, and managing a significant departmental budget. The successful candidate will be tasked with advancing IT governance, promoting enterprise-wide alignment, and leading efforts to consolidate systems and services for improved efficiency. Key responsibilities include advising on technology policy, leading major initiatives, and fostering a culture of engagement and continuous improvement. The ideal CIO for the company will have a broad understanding of information technology in a public-sector environment, experience in federated IT environments, and a proven track record of implementing governance frameworks that enhance service delivery. They should be a strategic and innovative leader with strong executive presence, relationship-driven, and customer service-focused. The role requires a candidate with strong technical expertise, business and financial acumen, and a commitment to mentoring and developing staff. The CIO will also be involved in significant projects such as enterprise systems and service standardization, justice system modernization, and facilities and technology infrastructure planning. A minimum of 5 years' of professional management experience in information systems services and a background in relevant academic fields are required, with an advanced degree and professional certification being highly desirable.
