Phlebotomist Certified - Edison Family Practice

Department: 01120 GCMG Edison Square Family Medicine - Family Medicine Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: M-F 8a to 5p Pay Range: $19.80 - $29.70 Major Responsibilities: • Collects and/or processes patient blood obtained by venipuncture and/or capillary puncture in a timely and accurate fashion. • Use of vacutainer tube, butterflies, syringes, and needle for drawing blood. Use of micro lancets and capillary pipettes in obtaining blood specimens by heel stick. • Performs Positive Patient identification by verifying the patient’s name and date of birth against lab orders and accurately record it onto the specimen. • Determines proper container type. • Promptly draws and delivers blood specimens to the appropriate laboratory department. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Certification as a phlebotomist by one of the following approved certifying agencies: AMT, ASCP, ASPT, NHA, or NPA. Education Required: Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate. Completion of approved phlebotomy training course, or 6 months phlebotomy experience in hospital or other patient care setting Experience Required: Completion of approved phlebotomy training course, or 6 months phlebotomy experience in hospital or other patient care setting.
