Rich’s®—Infinite Possibilities. One Family. Purpose Statement Perform basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic repair and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment. Trouble shooting and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical failures. Preventative maintenance on all plant equipment. Perform welding, cutting and soldering using electric and gas equipment. Occasionally must work in refrigerated areas where temperature extremes can reach 10 degrees F. Follow all GMP’s, food safety, and quality policies. Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance. Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage. Ensure compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed. Record accurate and legible results on documentation Provide adequate housekeeping at all times. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal High School Diploma or GED required Special certification may be required for use of forklift and chemicals and certain mechanical skills Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed One year experience in a manufacturing/ industrial environment as a mechanic Medium to high degree of judgment required Basic math skills necessary A high degree of judgment is required for this job. Must occasionally test energized electrical equipment, or pressurized hydraulic devices to trouble shoot before repairing. Mechanics must service equipment from elevated surfaces or from ladder with exposure to falls always present. The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform the essential functions of this position are: Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis Must be able to lift 55bs Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements. Works in high noise area and wears the appropriate hearing protection. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
