Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Acute Care ICU Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Full-Time Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current license as a registered professional nurse Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - PALS Must-Have: - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion - Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner - Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills - Computer literacy Description: ICU position with a variable schedule of 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. / 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. Position requires working every other weekend and holidays. Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS is required through the RQI system during clinical orientation. Basic Coronary Care must be completed within 6 months of hire. CPI certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association is recommended within 2 years of hire. TNCC certification is also recommended within 2 years of hire. Staff must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients. Knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the lifespan is required. Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status is essential. Candidates must be able to interpret the information needed to identify each patient's age-specific needs. Care must be provided effectively for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient groups. Patient care must demonstrate behaviors consistent with principles of dignity, safety, respect, and well-being. The role requires promoting healthy relationships within the work environment.
