Operating Room RN – Surgical Services

Schedule: 12-hour shifts

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Requirements:

• 3 years of nursing experience
• Level I trauma experience and circulating experience required
• Trauma and neuro experience required
• BCLS certification
• Licensing: Pending license accepted at submission
• Charting system: Cerner
• Specific skills: Circulating in Level I trauma cases, neuro and ortho case experience, familiarity with general OR procedures, robotic/minimally invasive techniques, blood administration, and trauma/acute surgical protocols

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care in the operating room setting for surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Manage and coordinate care for patients undergoing trauma and neuro surgeries.
• Assist in maintaining a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care practices and outcomes.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & day after; Christmas Eve & Christmas Day; New Year's Eve & New Year's Day.
• Drug screen required within 30 days of start.
• Documentation due/updated per facility requirements (typically 10 days prior to start).
• Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions allowed.
