Retail Staff Accountant

WHAT YOU'LL DO: The Retail Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate has strong business, accounting and financial analysis skills to ensure the success of company strategies.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Review and reconcile daily retail cash transactions for all stores
• Submit all store bills and ensure proper allocation to store G/L numbers
• Work closely with third party vendors and store managers to reconcile and resolve outstanding issues
• Manage store capital expenditures and prepare monthly fixed asset schedules
• Assist with new store opening procedures, as necessary
• Provide supporting documentation for internal audit requests
• Communicate with landlords regarding rent payments, percentage rent calculations, prepaids and CAM true ups
• Assist Accounting manager in forecasting process and provide data as needed
• Work with bank representative to set up new store banking, order supplies, etc.
• Work with merchant services to set up new store merchant accounts and resolve funding issues

• Work with retail directors and district managers in regard to company credit cards as well as reconciling accrued expenses for the program.
• Month end closing procedures including accrued expenses, gift card reconciliations, payroll entries and sales tax.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• A Bachelor's or equivalent degree from an accredited university in business, finance or related field of study
• 2+ years of Retail Accounting experience required
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Advanced analytical and strong modeling skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with emphasis on meeting tight deadlines
• A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• This is a full-time, hybrid position

Liberated Brands is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Costa Mesa, CA is $24.04 - $31.25. This position is hybrid and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location.
